Plettenberg Bay is situated two hours west of Port Elizabeth, where the airport links to Johannesburg and Cape Town International Airports.

Plett, as known by the locals, has beautiful views of the ocean from the restaurants in the centre of town.

Helicopter rides are available from R150 per trip.

A small airport provides landing for private jetsetters, and a few extreme activities such as sky diving and paragliding.

Plett's most impressive natural feature is Robberg. It takes 4 hours to walk around the Island where 4,000 seals have nested on the cliffs.

Basic accomodation is available on Robberg but is limited to one wooden hut. The Beacon Isle hotel is a ten minute drive away from Robberg on the way to town.

The Beacon Isle Hotel has a popular restaurant that hangs over rock and sea.

The hotel offers an infinity pool with views over the bay, safe swimming beaches and a lagoon for kiddies to play in.

A stone's throw away to the East of Plett is the Storms river Gorge, bungy jumping, Monkey Land, the Lawnwood snake park, Adventure Land Waterpark, Tsitsikamma Falls and Birds of Paradise, a large area of natural forest with a suspended bridge over tree tops where apes and birds from all over the world can be seen in their natural habitat.

Storms river mouth has a great walk and suspended footbridge over the mouth of the river.
